A recent visitor to Northern Ireland was DAVID DOLAN, a Jerusalem-based author and journalist. Born and raised in the United States, he has lived and worked in Israel since 1980.
David was in Northern Ireland as a guest of Christian Friends of Israel. He was on the final leg of a UK tour which took him to the four home countries and over 20 different venues right across the country.
David spoke in North Down on Friday, 4th November and then in Belfast on Saturday 5th November. The organisers, CFI, say “Toda Rabba” (many thanks) to the Belfast Jewish community for the use of the synagogue complex for the Belfast meeting. Over 100 people attended each event, some folk coming from the west of the province and others from the Irish Republic to listen to David speak.
It was a great opportunity to hear up-to-the-minute reports of fast-moving events from Israel and the Middle East, and to consider them from a Biblical perspective.
Accompanying David Dolan was CFI’s own David Soakell who spoke about the work of CFI and the various projects it supports. One example is Shevet Achim, which assists Arab children from poor homes to benefit from state of the art Israeli medical care. David Soakell writes and produces the CFI newsreport and prayer update (which reaches tens of thousands of Christians in the UK and internationally, including 40,000 readers in Canada alone!).
