Sarah Herzog

Sarah Herzog, a young rabbi’s wife in Belfast, 1916-18 but very much a personality in her own right. She was a prominent figure in the development of the leading geriatric and psychiatric hospital in the Middle East, which is named after her – the Sarah Herzog Memorial hospital in Jerusalem. She would head the women’s division of a political party and found Emunah, a women’s organisation with over 180,000 members in 30 different countries which funds vital social work in Israel.
